Jennifer Prete Wasfy

Artistic Director / Head Instructor

Jennifer has been involved in the dance world since she was three years old. Her first dance experiences started in her own hometown, Westerly, Rhode Island. Jennifer's mother, being a former dancer herself, inspired Jennifer to get a jump start in dance. In doing so, Jennifer loved dance classes and continued taking dance lessons for 27 years after that in her hometown dance school, and also in other schools for additional experience in several studios in New England as well as New York City.

Jennifer has had the fantastic opportunities to also take many lessons from great master teachers such as Savion Glover, Hillary-Marie Michael, Dianne Walker, Andrew Nemr, Mike Minery, Debbi Dee, Shea Sullivan, Josh Hilberman, Barbara Duffy, Frank Hatchet, Jerry Rose, Brian Santora, Mark Goodman, Sean Fielder, Chris Smith, Sarah Jo Fazio, Joey Dowling, Barry Youngblood, Misha Gabriel, Nick Lazzarini, and many more. Jennifer and her staff attend professional conventions and workshops every year and attend regional and national competitions with the JPSD Dance Competition Team.

Jennifer is an active member of the Professional Dance Teachers Association, a member of the Rhode Island Dance Alliance and holds a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Between Jennifer's dance experience and love of dance, she hopes to share her experiences and pass down the dance tradition to all of her students for many years to come.

Meag Foy-Anderson

Originally from New York City, Meag’s dance journey began at the age of four when she stepped into her first jazz class and fell in love with the combination of movement and music. From that day forward, tap, ballet, lyrical, contemporary, and eventually pointe, would find their way into her life. Over time her journey evolved from recreational study into a more serious multi-level/multi-studio approach, and she began competing at a young age, continuing to do so throughout high school. Soon after, through natural progression and noted talent, she moved on to teaching and choreography followed by studio administration as well.

Meag comes to JPSD with over ten years of teaching experience in New York City, Westchester, upstate New York, and Rhode Island. She loves sharing her passion for dance in both a recreational and competitive class setting, encouraging her students to always find the FUN in the beauty of dance, while helping them build self-confidence and positive body image.

Whether it is through attending professional workshops, experiencing master classes, or taking classes at Broadway Dance Center when she is in New York, Meag believes that there is never an end to learning, especially when shared in the ever growing dance world. Therefore, she strives to always expand her own knowledge so as to bring the best to her students when in the studio.

Meag holds a B.A. in Psychology and English Literature from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York and when not teaching, she can be found dancing around her kitchen with her own two children.
